Last weekend, my friend, Sue, invited me out to Indian Graves campground. Its in Southern Alberta about 30 minutes from the town of Longview off a long and dusty dirt road called the 532. After rounding up our kids, buying last minute supplies and fuelling up the vehicles we were off. It was a race to beat the sunset which we lost. After a quick stop in Longview for a pee break and fireworks, I drove that dirt road, missed the turn to the campground and ended up driving the whole distance. By the time I found the campground, I was so happy to see Sue I wanted to grab her like a lost kid finding his mother after a frantic meltdown.
We lucked out. This place was pretty much empty, the only people there being friends that came to share this final summer campout. What else can I say? I love camping and everything about it. Fires, playing guitar, cooking meat and sugary marshmallows on sticks over the said fire, walking barefoot in the creek, tenting, fireworks... Its just epic fun.
